about
"Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man, who built his house on the rock."
Matthew 7:24
While we all know that being a Christian is a counter-cultural choice, it has become increasingly hard to separate truth from "almost-truth" in more recent years and also to raise kids who know the difference.
My husband and I were both raised within orthodox Christianity (Baptist and Methodist), but we both lacked discipleship training until we became parents! Discipleship is critical for forming a Biblical worldview that informs your thoughts, shapes your behaviors, and guides your decisions.

When we became parents in 2014, we thought we had a solid foundation in our faith - we had joined a church, led a small group, gotten spiritual mentors, been through Bible studies of Biblical Manhood & Biblical Womanhood. But, it wasn't until we started parenting our kids that we realized there was a significant gap in our faith foundation that was making it difficult for us to own discipling our kids.
Enter: Nesting on the rock!

American culture has been changing very rapidly over the last 10 years (to say the least!). The biggest shift has been a cultural shift from a Biblically-based moralistic worldview to a secular progressive worldview. This means that even if we wanted to parent our children in the same exact way we were raised, it would be impossible.
Summit Ministries is a reliable Christian organization that provides worldview training for adults and youth.
