Kids Under Age 6
Here we have gathered trusted resources we have personally used in discipleship with our children that we would highly recommend other parents to use to create a Biblical worldview for their children under the age of 6.
Courageous Boys / Girls Bibles
About: We have loved using these Bibles! In addition to the Bible stories, this book also includes "highlight pages" where they give background information about a main character including what their name means, what they did that was significant, and other facts that help give insights into why they were courageous.
Best for: Ages 4-6
The Bible App for Kids
The Bible App for kids is an amazing resource we used for providing limited screen time with a wholesome purpose. There is a parenting resources page that could print coloring sheets and lessons from along with videos that included Bible stories, application, and worship songs. We used this for Bible time at home when our kids were 3-5 years old. They have also published a kids Bible with similar graphics that contain more stories than the videos so you can use the physical Bible, videos, coloring sheets, lessons, etc. to guide your young kids towards Christ.
Superbook Show
About: Superbook is a fantastic show put on by CBN (Christian Broadcasting Network) that tells the fictional story of two kids and their robot who are living "modern life" but through the "Superbook" portal, they travel back in time to Biblical events and experience them for themselves, returning at the end of each episode to apply what they learned to their modern-day situation.
Best for: Ages 6+
Melissa & Doug Bible Activities
We traveled a lot with the kids when they were younger (my son flew 24 times before he turned 12 months old!), so I was constantly looking for purposeful activities to keep him busy and engaged with Scripture. Melissa & Doug have several products that are Biblically-based and we enjoyed using. This product is for ages 3+ and only uses water to reveal the picture, and then dries again for reuse.
Melissa & Doug Bible Reusable Sticker Pad
About: This reusable sticker pad was a great way for my kids to retell the Bible stories they knew in a way that was interactive and engaging. Stories include: Noah's Ark, God parting the Red Sea through Moses, Daniel in the Lion's Den, David & Goliath. While these were focused on the "what" of the story and not the "why it matters", it still helped us keep the Bilbe interesting to them at a young age.
